Kevin B. Windsor, DVM

Kevin B. Windsor, DVM

Dr. Windsor earned a BS in biomedical science, with honors, from Texas A&M University in 1992. He then obtained a degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. In 1998, he completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Washington State University, where he specialized in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. He then returned to Michigan, where he served as a relief veterinarian, specializing in emergency and general medicine, at various Metro Detroit area veterinary hospitals. In 2000, he joined Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc., and in 2013 Dr. Windsor purchased the hospital and became Practice Manager.

Dr. Windsor’s special interests include ophthalmology, surgery, dermatology, and internal medicine, including ultrasound and endoscopy. He attends more than 50 hours of continuing education per year. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association where he is past president, Veterinary Orthopedic Society, and American Animal Hospital Association. He passes his free time with running, swimming, golf, photography, and cooking. He lives with his wife, Sondra; his daughter, Mallory; son, Matthew; and two dogs—a Heinz 57 named Magglio Ordonez and a knuckle-headed golden retriever named Sully Sullenberger.

Lance E. Adams, DVM, Diplomate ABVP

Dr. Adams graduated from Michigan State University with a BS with honor (1969) and a DVM with high honor (1970). In 1982, he was awarded American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) Diplomate status.

His veterinary history includes time with Pearce Veterinary Hospital in Southfield, (1971–1974); Plaza Veterinary Hospital in Farmington (1974–1975); Suburban Veterinary Hospital in Hazel Park (1976); and Westcott Veterinary Hospital Emergency Room in Detroit (1977). Dr. Adams built and established Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc. in 1977.

His professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and ultrasonography. Dr. Adams attends a minimum of 80 hours of continuing education per year on various subjects at local, national, and international meetings.

Dr. Adams is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, Southeast Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Veterinary Orthopedic Society, Society of Aquatic Veterinary Medicine, and Veterinary Cancer Society.

Dr. Adams has two children, Evan and Reid, and lives with a menagerie of pets, including a yellow Lab (Woodie), two cats (Carleton and Ricky), a ferret, a large python, five turtles, a Lady Amherst pheasant, and two fish tanks. Other interests include boating, fishing, SCUBA diving, photography, wildlife, and travel to Florida. In sports, he loves attending Red Wing games and watching his favorite football teams: MSU, Detroit Lions, and Tampa Bay Bucs.

Jen Brown, DVM

Jen Brown, DVM

After growing up in Troy, Michigan, Jen Brown attended Lake Superior State University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry in 1993. At Oklahoma State University, she received honors in soft tissue surgery, graduating with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. In Dallas, Texas, she worked as a mixed animal practitioner (equine, exotics, and zoo animal medicine and surgery) at a general practice, interned at Animal Emergency Hospital in Dallas, and was part of veterinary teams at Dallas World Aquarium, Dallas Zoo, Oklahoma City Zoo, and Arbuckle Wilderness, where she worked with large cats (lions, tigers, cougars, and wildcats).

Dr. Brown returned to Michigan in 2001, working for various clinics in St. Clair Shores, Shelby Township, Lake Orion, and Clarkston. Working as a relief veterinarian allowed her the flexibility to spend time with her two sons, Emerson and Peyton, and her English setter, Buck, while working at emergency clinics in Flint and Clinton Township.

She has been a member of the AVMA, AAZWV, and AAFP while obtaining 50 hours of continuing education per year. Professional interests include cardiology, soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine (trauma) and critical care, and reptile and avian medicine, as well as senior care with emphasis on pain control.

When not at work, Dr. Brown can be found on the ice playing hockey. Being an avid Red Wings fan is only the beginning of her hockey obsession—this year, she plays for Senior Women’s Honeybaked AAA team.

Meet Our Staff

Shirley Baker, Client Service Manager

Shirley Baker, Reception/Veterinary Assistant

Shirley has been on staff with Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc. since its opening day in 1977, and, in addition to receptionist duties, aids with many types of veterinary tasks and dentistry. She has attended seminars on a wide variety of veterinary topics. A position on a horse farm gave her an introduction to animal care. Her attraction to dogs led her to ownership of Dobermans, boxers, pointers, and German shorthaired pointers, all of which she has trained and shown in conformation and obedience. She has been an obedience instructor for more than 20 years and is an all-breed conformation handler. Shirley enjoys raising puppies and participating in horse-related activities.

Diane Wydick, Financial Manager/IT

Diane Wydick, Accounting/Computer Maintenance/Administrative Assistant

Diane was educated at Walsh College of Accountancy and is a specialist in small business bookkeeping. She joined the team of Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc. in 1978. She has since expanded her aptitude to include computer hardware and software maintenance with special emphasis on graphic arts and forms generation, as well as a variety of administrative skills.

Over the years, Diane has shared her home with a diversity of critters, including Dobermans and a Manchester terrier, which she shows and trains. Birds are also of special interest. Diane enjoys music, distance bicycling, photography, gardening and home remodeling, various crafts, and spending time with family and friends.

Liz is a 2002 graduate of the Macomb Community College Veterinary Technician Program. She was part of the BHVA team from 1994-2002 as a receptionist and veterinary assistant. She rejoined the BHVA team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2013. Her interests include dentistry, and canine behavior and training.

Liz lives in Royal Oak and shares her home with 3 Pointers, Stuart, Lenny and Gary and a Persian cat, Dwight M. Goldburg. In her free time, she competes in dog shows, and obedience and rally trials. Liz has been an instructor at Sportsmen's Dog Training Club since 1998.

Tracy Deeren, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Tracy received her Veterinary Technician license in 1995 from WCCC. She has experience in specialty, emergency, and general practice. She is especially interested in dentistry after working with a specialist for several years after she became an LVT. Tracy also has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ad Design from WSU and does charcoal pet portraits in her spare time. In addition, she is an avid golfer, enjoys riding her bike, traveling, singing karaoke, and lives in Dearborn with her boyfriend and their 4 cats and 4 dogs.

Andrea Trist, Licensed Veterinary Technician

Andrea joined Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates in 2015. She graded from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in 2007. She has been working in Veterinary Clinics since 2005, and became a licensed veterinary technician in 2014. Originally from Northville, Andrea recently returned to the Metro Detroit area after living in Lansing for the past 13 years. She has a little grey kitty named Katza (German for cat). In her free time she enjoys yoga, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Her passion for traveling has taken her to Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, England, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Marie Boussie, Client Services

Marie joined the reception desk in November 2009 and brings with her more than 20 years of experience in customer service and client loyalty. She had been coming to Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc. for several years to buy special treats for her dog, Gordie. This eventually led to a job as a receptionist when she opted for a career change after being laid off from her job in the steel industry.

Marie lives in Royal Oak with her husband, Kevin, and their beagle/shepherd mix named Gretel. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, Detroit Red Wings hockey, and Tigers baseball.

Jessica Chamberlin, Client Services

Jessica Chamberlin, Reception

Jessica has been bringing her pets to Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc, since 2003 and joined the reception desk in March 2011. She has a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan.

Jessica and her husband, Jeff, have two children, Audrey and Eli, and three cats, Saja, Matilda, and Clyde. She enjoys running and biking with her family, baking, and traveling.

Shannon Lawlis, Client Services

Shannon Lawlis, Client Services

Shannon came to Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc in March 2014 to assist in Client Services. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University and has a marketing/business background. After many years in marketing and then being at home with her children, she is pursuing her dream of working with animals. She grew up in the Beverly Hills area. Her hobbies include anything to do with dogs, entertaining, or decorating. She is married with two teenage children who also share her love of animals. She has two dogs, a chocolate lab, and a rescue poodle.

Evan Adams, Facility Manager

Evan Adams, Kennel Manager/Facility Manager

Evan has worked for the past 10 years at Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc. as the facilities manager and oversees operations in the kennel. Evan’s interests outside the hospital include boating, fishing, archery, marksmanship, horticulture, and four-wheeling. At home, he has two cats, Ricky and Carleton, and a black Lab named Jenny.

Kendra Gossett, Animal Caregiver

Kendra has been a part of our team since December 2005. She completed the Penn Foster Veterinary Assistant certificate program while in high school and has brought a great attitude to the clinic. She also works full-time at Oakland Schools Technical Campus Southeast as an instructional technician in the biotechnology and environmental science cluster with juniors and seniors in high school, helping teach anything that has to do with plants, animals, and the environment. Kendra has gone to Oakland Community College to receive her associate’s degree and plans to go back to school for her teaching degree, so that she can share her passion with others. Kendra has had a love for animals of all kinds her whole life. She has two rescue cats at home, Tazz and Checkers.

Chelsea Donna, Client Services/Animal Caregiver

Chelsea Donna, Kennel Assistant/Receptionist

Chelsea came to Beverly Hills Veterinary Associates, Inc in August 2014 as Kennel Assistant and later advanced to reception. She recently graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Veterinary Animal Science. She has been working in the animal care industry for 6 years now, including positions with show dogs and in kenneling facilities. Chelsea lives in Clawson with her Chocolate Lab puppy Moose and cat Peach. Her hobbies include anything to do with dogs, fishing, gardening and water activities.
