Have your heart set on a particular breed? Seek out a breed specific rescue organization \u2013 many will help to transport a pet to you at a free or reduced price.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\"><li><strong>Don\u2019t skip the yearly wellness exam <\/strong>\u2013 Although you can\u2019t prevent your pet from ever getting sick, catching an illness in its early stages through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beverlyhillsvets.com\/blog\/senior-pet-health-and-wellness\/\">preventive care<\/a> is far more cost-effective.
